43rd Annual Tennis Tournament Results

What began over four decades ago as a small local event has grown into a long-standing Cornerstone Bank tradition. This year, 48 players from 10 Nebraska towns — Aurora, Columbus, Grand Island, Hastings, Kearney, Lincoln, Norfolk, Omaha, Waverly, and York — competed in the 43rd Annual Cornerstone Bank Tennis Tournament at the Levitt Tennis Courts on Saturday and Sunday, August 9–10.

Division champions included:

Men’s Open - Asher Saulsbury of Kearney over Erik Hjermstad of Lincoln, 5-7, 7-6 (7-4), (10-1)

Men’s B – Leighton Repp of Hastings over Daniel Burgess of York, 6-1, 6-3.

Men’s 35 & Over – Brian Adams of Lincoln over David Northey of Lincoln, 6-3, 6-2.

Men’s Open Doubles – Erik Hjermstad / Camden Hjermstad of Lincoln over Max Rademacher / Sam Rademacher of Kearney, 6-3, 1-6 (10-5).

Men’s 35 & Over Doubles – Roland Augspurger of Columbus / Mike Willman of York over Allan Heng of York / Dalen Meisinger of York, 6-2, 6-2.

Women’s Open - Karaline Brekke of York over Madison Graybill of Grand Island (forfeit).

Women’s Open Doubles – Liz van der Torre / Nina Ngo of Lincoln over Haley Roush / Jessica Bender of Aurora, 6-3, 7-5.

A highlight off the court was the complimentary Saturday night BBQ hosted by Kelly Holthus, Cornerstone Bank Chairman, and Virginia Holthus in their backyard — a tradition that brings players, families, and the community together.

Cornerstone Bank thanks the tournament organizers, players, and community members for making the event a success. We look forward to welcoming familiar faces and new players back to the courts next year for the 44th Annual Cornerstone Bank Tennis Tournament, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, August 8–9, 2026, in York.
